The Entropies
Abstract
Entropy is critically examined as a fundamental concept in contemporary science and informatics. Although the typical Shannon entropy provides a proper framework for describing the canonical ensemble, it fails to represent adequately the microcanonical ensemble. This discrepancy manifests additionally in its inability to support a theoretical derivation of the Second Law of thermodynamics. --- Source: arXiv:2602.07861v1 - http://arxiv.org/abs/2602.07861v1 PDF: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2602.07861v1 ...
